2026 Wisconsin Summit on Domestic Violence and Child Welfare: Intersection and Action
The Children's Court Improvement Program (CCIP) and the Office of Court Operations invite you to attend the Summit on Domestic Violence and Child Welfare: Intersection and Action. Given the frequency with which family violence and child maltreatment overlap, and the impact on families, this event is intended to bring together multidisciplinary teams to improve procedures and outcomes in cases where domestic violence and child welfare issues intersect.
We intend for participants to attend as a county or tribal team in order to bring together judicial officers, attorneys (prosecutors, parents’ defense counsel, guardians ad litem), child welfare professionals, victim/witness professionals, and domestic violence advocates. We invite counties and tribes to create their own multidisciplinary teams and to use the Team Time portion of the Summit to reflect on the Summit content and strategically plan improvements for their jurisdictions.
A virtual attendance option will not be available.
Target Audience
This Summit is open to judges, court commissioners, attorneys, child welfare professionals, victim/witness professionals, domestic violence advocates, and state agency professionals.
Cost and Lodging
The Summit is free to attend, although lodging and travel expenses will be the responsibility of the individual attendee or agency (with the exception of judges and court commissioners). Instructions for booking lodging will be sent out after registration. Please do not make reservations at this time.
Continuing Education Credits
Judicial Education credits, Continuing Legal Education credits (CLE), and Continuing Education Hours (CEH) will be offered to attendees.
